Williamson Brasfield (b.1983, Palo Alto, CA; lives and works in New York) works with painting, photography, and sound to reevaluate relationships between technologies of perception and notions of time, recuperation, and safety. His research-based practice draws upon references spanning histories of science, philosophy, music, and art, to consider the roles that perceptual experience plays in regulating bodies and environments. He received an MFA in Painting from the Yale School of Art.
